Duchess Catherine and Prince William have marked their wedding anniversary week by throwing things back – figuratively and literally.

Indeed the couple, who celebrate 10 years of marriage on April 29, visited the Cheesy Waffles project in Durham where they met staff and children involved in the initiative.

There, they indulged in a humble game of golf – the perfect wholesome activity for any budding or long-time couple.

Stepping out on Tuesday wearing her favourite countryside attire – Penelope Chilvers boots, a pair of jeans and a khaki jacket – Kate was upbeat and positive and she and Wills joined in several activities.

Children of the initiative, which supports them in developing skills and independence as they develop into adulthood, joined the royals for the fun-filled day.

They fed sheep, helped out at a creation station and laughed a lot.

The Duke and Duchess were joyful during the days activities.

It was a much-needed reprieve for the pair, who mourned the loss of Prince Philip, William’s grandfather, earlier this month.

During the outing, the pair spoke to some of the children about getting their Duke of Edinburgh Awards – an initiative originally helmed by Philip himself.

According to The Daily Mail‘s Rebecca English, William made a touching reference to his late grandfather, telling the children: “Do you know he was my grandfather?”

“Sadly he died a few weeks ago. He would have been so pleased that you got your awards.”

It’s been a tough few weeks for the royals after losing Prince Philip.

On Thursday, the pair will officially celebrate 10 years since their glorious royal wedding in Westminster Abbey.

And while they may have since grown a little older, had three children and went through several tumbles and triumphs, they still prove their love is just as strong.
