โTis the season for woolly jumpers and tartanโฆ in the UK that is.
Duchess Catherine has stepped out in what might be her most festive look yet as she and Prince William hosted a Christmas party for deployed personal from the RAF at Kensington Palace on Tuesday.
The 36-year-old looked stunning in a red tartan skirt by New Zealand-born designer Emilia Wickstead, paired with a black cashmere top by Brora.
But this wasnโt the only fittingly festive feat of the colourful eventโฆ

There was even a smattering of snow as the festivities played outโฆ well, sort of.
As the couple entered the event, a snow machine sprinkled a smattering of snowflakes onto the Prince and Duchess, and their delight was evident.

The event was held as a show of solidarity and support for deployed personnel and to acknowledge those currently serving who will be away from their families at this time of year.
The pair mingled with partners and children of army personnel.
Stalls where guests could decorate stockings, snow globes and Christmas crackers also went down a treat with the young ones.

The festive event comes after Kate spoke candidly about how excited her three young children are getting for December 25th.
While attending an official engagement at Leicester University on Wednesday, November 28, Catherine got chatting to a couple of avid royal fans who had come to see her.
When asked about her two eldest kids Charlotte and George, she told them: โTheyโre getting excited for Christmas time, because theyโve started all their Christmas songs and the Christmas trees are going up,โ she said.
And while Louis, who is not yet one, might be a little too young to appreciate Christmas in all itโs glory this year, heโs certainly on the way: โLouisโs getting bigger, I canโt believe heโs like seven months, heโs getting to be a big boy,โ Kate said of her youngest son.

As for Kate and Wills, it has been reported the pair will join the Queen, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan at Sandringham for the big day.
And they wonโt be doing things by halves. The British royals jam-packed Christmas day schedule includes a dinner at Sandringham, Norfolk on Christmas Eve, while Christmas morning starts with a full English breakfast.
Next comes a Church service before a 50-minute lunch. The family will then gather around the TV to watch the Queenโs pre-recorded Christmas message at 3pm on the dot.
