A classic red double-decker bus picked up Kate and William from their Kensington Palace home, taking them on a five-minute journey to their local tube stop to meet military personel and volunteers selling poppies.
The royals left baby Prince George at home with a nanny, saying that he had been “behaving himself this morning”.
Taking public transport is something of a royal tradition among the family. The Queen is partial to a train trip, and earlier this year Kate admitted she “missed travelling on the tube”.
