Today, The Duchess of Cambridge stepped onto the stairs of the Lindo Wing, showing her baby boy to the world for the first time, just like Diana did 31 years ago.

Kate wore a baby blue polka dot dress strikingly similar to Diana’s; a tribute to Prince William’s late mother.

Princess Diana broke royal tradition some 31 years ago when she gave birth to William at St Mary’s hospital instead of the family home.

Kate has followed her footsteps into St Mary’s hospital and now, with her bundle of joy, down the Lindo wing stairs.
