Julia Roberts may be most well known for her work as an actress, but off screen she loves spending time with her husband, Danny Moder, and their three beautiful children.
Here’s everything to know about Julia and Danny’s sweet relationship.
Julia Roberts, 56, first met Danny Moder, 55, in 2000 while on set of The Mexican.
Danny was a cameraman working on the project, while Julia starred in the film alongside Brad Pitt.
At the time, both of them were with other partners, but they reconnected and tied the knot in an intimate ceremony on 4 July 2002.
The wedding was kept a secret from their guests, who were invited to Danny’s ranch in New Mexico under the pretence of an Independence Day celebration.
But at midnight, Julia and Danny surprised the attendees by exchanging simple handwritten vows in a circle of scattered rose petals.
“She’s gloriously happy,” Michael Dennison, Julia’s wedding dress designer, told PEOPLE at the time. “These two people are deeply in love.”
Since their personal and intimate wedding ceremony, the couple have remained by each other’s sides and they’ve achieved many milestones together.
On 31 May 2004, Julia and Danny confirmed the exciting news that they were expecting twins. The Pretty Woman star’s spokesperson revealed to PEOPLE that their children were due in early 2005.
However, the twins had other plans and came early! Phinneaus and Hazel were born on 28 November 2004.
“Hazel is an old-fashioned name, and she’s a strong, perfect Hazel,” Julia shared during a 2009 appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman.
As for Phinnaeus, “My husband wanted to name him Finn, which I quite liked, but it seemed like a nickname. So I said we had to have a proper name, and then we can call him Finn,” the actress revealed on Live with Regis and Kelly.
A few years later, on 18 June 2007, the couple announced the arrival of their third child, Henry Daniel.
Throughout the years, Julia and Danny’s marriage has remained rock solid, and they’ve frequently gushed over one another during interviews as well as on their personal social media pages.
In an interview with PEOPLE in November 2015, Julia spoke about collaborating with her husband on the set of Secret in Her Eyes, with Danny working as a cinematographer on the project.
“It was amazing. It was so great. He’s my favourite person on the planet, so I love spending time with him and I love his work ethic.
“His point of view is really valuable to me.”
Since then, Julia has posted a slew of loving tributes to Danny in honour of his birthdays as well as their anniversaries.
The couple celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary on 4 July 2024, and the 56-year-old shared a rare throwback snap of them kissing.
In April 2022, Julia revealed the secret to their happy and long-lasting marriage on The Jess Cagle Show.
“Two bathroom sinks and lots of kissing,” she shared.
