It is apparent that the Home and Away set does as much career making as it does matchmaking.
One such Summer Bay love story is the one between co-stars Patrick O’Connor and Sophie Dillman, who have sizzling on and off-set chemistry.
Over the weekend, Patrick penned an emotional message to pay tribute to Sophie for her 28th birthday, and his thoughtful words couldn’t have been sweeter.
Taking to his Instagram, Patrick posted a series of photos with Sophie from over the years.
The actor shared few serious moments with some of their funny shenanigans.
In one photo, the couple is cuddling by the bay, and in another, they’re pulling silly poses on the red carpet.
Patrick captioned the dump, “Happy birthday to my number one ❤️ so proud of you and couldn’t imagine doing this crazy life without you, thank you for everything xx.”
The couple’s Home and Away co-stars quickly flooded Patrick’s post with supportive messages in the comment section.
Georgie Parker was the first to comment, “Happy birthday beautiful Soph,” and Sam Frost penned, “Awww cuties.”
Lynne McGranger posted a series of celebratory emojis, “💕💕💕🥂🥂🥂.”
Sophie also added her own comment to acknowledge her boyfriend’s kind words, she shared four heart emojis, “❤️❤️❤️❤️.”
On her Instagram account, Sophie posted a picture of herself and Patrick from her birthday celebrations.
For her big day, Patrick had dressed up in a red and white striped suit, a straw hat, and he gifted her a single red rose and red wine.
She captioned the picture, “The best day. The best outfit. @paddy.oco ❤️.”
Patrick also posted a picture of himself in his love inspired to get up, and he paired it with a cheeky caption.
“That’s amore bro,” he quipped.
His co-stars once again took to his comment section to praise him for his romantic display.
Georgie Parker commented, “That’s a good drop 🍷,” and Emily Symons posted, “Well done Patrick! Absolutely outstanding effort 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼.”
The beloved couple may have found love on-set but they actually knew each other well before Summer Bay entered their lives.
“We actually knew each other at uni – we went to acting school together years ago,” Sophie told The Morning Show in March.
“We were friends then, and then we were in different years, so we didn’t really see each other – but then when found each other on the show. And conveniently, our characters got together on the show.”
