One of Home And Away‘s only monumental same-sex couples, Willow and Alex, left quite the hole in viewer’s hearts when they called it quits last year.
And it seems fans aren’t the only one pining for reconciliation between the women.
Sarah Roberts, who played one half of the couple alongside real-life bestie Zoe Ventoura, has revealed she’s pitched the idea of Alex’s return to the show’s producers.
Our hearts broke as the character’s did.
(Channel Seven)“I wanted people who aren’t usually represented on television to be represented, and then when we heard from fans what a great job we were doing, [Zoe and I] were just so thrilled,” Sarah told Stuff.co.nz.
“We never thought we’d have that kind of response.
“[Willow]’s had a rough ride when it comes to love, but everyone in the Bay has. I mean, you get married in the morning and divorced in the evening.
“I went to the producer and the writer again, and asked if Alex could come back and just tap Willow on the shoulder and then they could just drive off into the sunset together. But I guess you’ve got to wait and see what happens.”
Alex and Willow were fan faves.

Rumours have been swirling Willow is set for a more permanent departure from the show soon.
It could mean Sarah’s suggestion that Willow’s ex, Alex, returns to Summer Bay to sweep her off her feet and ride off into the sunset is very possible.
As Sarah said we’ll just have to wait and see what happens…
