The Sydney lockdown has extended from a two-week bunker down to a seven-week saga, which has seen many families separated from those they love.
Ada Nicodemou and her dear son Johnas have opened up about their isolation struggles this week.
Taking to her Instagram story, the actor revealed how much they’ve been missing their family members.
In her first post, she captured Johnas trying to work on his homeschooling, and he’s cutely wearing a soccer jersey with Sofia 21 written on the back, which is a reference to his cousin and godsister, Sofia.
Ada captioned the picture, “Missing his little cousin.”
For her second post, she shared an image of Sofia concentrating on reading a book in a coral onesie.
Clearly besotted with her goddaughter, she commented on their likeness.
She wrote, “She’s like her nouna – loves a good read.”
Earlier this year, when a long-term lockdown seems like an empty threat, Ada and her family celebrated Sofia’s grand christening.
The milestone event was held at a Greek Orthodox Church, and the Home and Away star doted on her goddaughter and even bought her a custom-made designer dress for the occasion.
Sofia is the first-born daughter of Ada’s brother Costa and his wife Elena.
Missing their family isn’t the only struggle plaguing the Nicodemou clan, who have been trying to get through the trials of homeschooling.
Taking to her Instagram yesterday, Ada shared a heartbreaking picture of her son Johnas looking like he’s about to cry while she gives him a tender kiss on the cheek.
She captioned the stressful snap, “Ready for another day of homeschooling 🏡❤️.”
Co-star and close family friend Lynne McGranger commented on the post, “Good luck to you all 😂🙏🥰💋.”
While some fans in the comment section shared their well wishes, others turned their attention to Johnas’ soccer jersey.
He’s a big fan of the sport, and earlier this year, he was interviewed on live TV at the soccer about which team he thinks will win.
Ever a proud mother, Ada shared the footage on her Instagram, and she beamed, “My boy on the telly today.”
Of course, he is his mother’s son and took to his TV moment with natural ease as the sports journalist asked him questions.
In the short video, Johnas revealed he wasn’t sure who he thought would win but that his favourite team is Liverpool.
