Home and Away‘s cast and crew often dub themselves one big, happy family.
And life on the Summer Bay set is about to become an even bigger family affair!
Nicholas Cartwright, who plays police officer Cash Newman, announced on Tuesday night that his sister Zara will be joining the Summer Bay circle.
The 33-year-old shared a series of behind-the-scenes snaps of himself and Zara – and we already can’t wait to see them on screen together!
“Not sure if y’all have seen the promo, but my beautiful lil sister will be joining us on @homeandaway this week!” he penned.
“I’ve never had more fun on set. It was literally impossible to not look over at her and laugh with joy between takes. Such a wonderful moment to work with family in such a bizarre world.
“Welcome to the team @nottherealzarazoe ! Tune in to see what we get up to 👮♂️👩⚖️”
Nicholas’ announcement was met with excitement from Home and Away fans and Nicholas’ fellow cast and crew.
Summer Bay’s makeup artist Laura Vasquez commented: “Best looking siblings in the biz” while Home and Away‘s associate producer Brodie Macpherson wrote: “The bloody best ❤️”
While Zara has been in the Aussie acting industry since 2012, Home and Away will undoubtedly skyrocket her career.
She previously starred in the 2015 drama film Skin Deep as well as the Rachel Griffiths-directed Ride Like a Girl alongside Teresa Palmer and Sam Neill.
Nicholas, who graduated from Sydney drama school NIDA in 2019, joined the cast in June 2021 after spending six years in the Australian Army a rifleman.
Later, when he ended up at NIDA, Nicholas was in the same class as another future co-star, Ethan Browne, who plays Tane Parata.
“I was extremely jealous, actually [of his gig]. We were really good mates at NIDA,” Nicholas told TV WEEK last year.
“We were a little bit older than a lot of the others there and we’d had some life experiences, so we gravitated towards each other.”
