Home and Away fans were greeted by a fresh new face in Summer Bay this week after Dr. Bree Cameron, portrayed by Juliet Godwin, saved the life of one of the town’s most beloved cops, Cash.
It was a characteristically intense episode for the soap, with Juliet telling The Morning Show’s Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies that she was thrown “in the deep end”.
“It was all a bit crazy,” she confirmed.
But despite the chaos, the Bay’s newest addition assured the breakfast program that her fellow actors quickly calmed her first day jitters.
“I was a little bit nervous but as soon as I got in there everyone was so welcoming and so kind that the nerves kind of dispersed. It was all very surreal; I was like pinch me, I’m here.”
The actress also spoke about her background of modelling in South Africa.
“I went over for an adventure and I definitely had one, but I call Australia home,” she said.
The Zimbabwean-born actress, who was raised in Perth, WA, previously spoke to TV WEEK about her arrival to the Bay and how she came to be involved in the show.

“My agent sent me through the audition and, after reading Bree’s character brief, I was super-excited to put down an audition tape. I was called in for a second round of auditions and was fortunate enough to get the role,” she said.
Along with her medical prowess, Bree is also a keen surfer – something that Juliet can relate to in her personal life.
“I’ve actually been getting into surfing myself, as it’s a big hobby of my partner. So it’s been great to get in the water as Bree,” the actress said.
