In the ever-changing landscape of Australian television, few shows have matched the success of Home And Away. The iconic drama, which has enjoyed 36 seasons since it launched in 1988, continues to be a popular fixture on our screens, this year claiming the Logie for Most Popular Drama Series.

โ€œThere were amazing shows in that category, so we figured our only chance was that itโ€™s a Popular category and weโ€™ve been rating well for a number of years,โ€ 2010 Gold Logie Award winner Ray Meagher, 79, tells TV WEEK.

โ€œIt was unexpected, but weโ€™re simply delighted.โ€

With their audience front of mind and continuing success, the future of Home And Away looks sunnier than a Summer Bay sky.

โ€œOur audience never get lost,โ€ Ray says. โ€œWe have a strong body of regular characters, with fresh faces coming into tell their stories every few years. But when the audience turn on and see one of the oldies, they know what show it is. They know theyโ€™re in Summer Bay.โ€
