Sophie Dillman has shared a rare throwback photo from the Home And Away set – but the photo isn’t of her, boyfriend Patrick O’Connor or any of the current cast.
In fact, the polaroid she posted to Instagram on Friday showed a Home And Away alum she never actually shared the screen with; Heath Ledger.
Standing in what appears to be a costume trailer, a young Heath can be seen posing with his arms at his sides in blue shorts and a long sleeve white and navy shirt.
Piles of clothes surround him in the snap, which was likely taken while testing costumes or for continuity purposes.
Sophie was amazed by the find, which she appeared to have picked up somewhere on the modern Home And Away set.
“I can’t believe we worked together… separate decades, but basically we are one,” she joked in the caption.
Heath starred in just 10 episodes of the soap back in 1997, when he played local bad boy Scott Irwin, who had a brief teen romance with Sally Fletcher, played by Kate Ritchie.
“My own experience with working with him is that he was absolutely gorgeous and just fun,” Kate revealed on Anh’s Brush with Fame in 2021.
“And I was the envy, of course, of all the girls on set. Because I was the one that got to lock lips with him, repeatedly.”
Though he wasn’t on the show for long, Heath proved he was a talented actor and soon went on to bigger Aussie projects before heading overseas in 1998 for his film career.

Starring in movies like Brokeback Mountain and The Dark Knight, the Australian star sadly died in 2008 of an accidental overdose.
He’s just one of many prolific Australian stars who got their start on Home And Away, with actors like Chris Hemsworth and Isla Fisher also starring on the show early in their careers.
These days the set of Summer Bay is populated by a new cast of young actors – including Sophie herself, boyfriend Patrick and plenty more – as well as a few old favourites like Lynne McGranger as Irene Roberts.
