Jad Nehmetallah is no longer the third wheel. After being the odd one out alongside lovebirds Matty and Sarah Marie Fahd on the Gogglebox couch, the Aussie TV star has now found his own other half!
“God has blessed me with a real life angel,” Jad says of his bride-to-be, Melbourne-born Sarah, who he met through mutual friends more than a year ago.
PROPOSAL FROM HEAVEN
The reality star wanted to ensure his proposal was out of this world too! Jad was a man on a mission when he headed to New York last month to collect Sarah’s ring, which he’d had custom made in the city’s famed Diamond District.
Then, it was off to Italy for a three-week adventure, which culminated in a sunset proposal at Castle Elvira in Puglia on July 12. On the rooftop, adorned with flowers, candles and a cellist, Jad asked Sarah to be his wife.
“I’ve waited 38 years for this moment, however, with you, it has felt like a day… Today, it’s time we stand together on this rooftop, with you as my queen. I can’t wait for us to do life together,” read the romantic letter Jad had prepared for what he describes was a “magical fairytale” moment.
Celebrity friends were quick to wish the couple well. “I finally get to hand you over,” joked best friend Matty, 37. “Today is a good day for my fridge. Congratulations to you both, may your love be everlasting. I’m so happy you found each other. I love you both.”
“So happy you found your queen,” gushed their Gogglebox co-star Isabelle Silbery, 38. And Jad says he never had any doubt.
THE ONE
“From the minute I met Sarah, I knew she was the one,” says the delighted star and restaurateur, who describes his future wife as “beautiful, soft, caring, loving, smart, supportive and funny”.
“We bring out the best in each other,” Jad admits of the soon-to-be-weds, who had an instant and deep connection, built on shared values, a love of travel, food, family, and fun. “I can’t picture my life without her.”
While the happy couple are yet to reveal any of their wedding details, fans are already speculating about the big day.
“Please tell me you’re going to walk him down the aisle,” one viewer cheekily asked Matty on Instagram.
Another fan commented, “We know who’s designing the wedding dress now don’t we,” after bridal designer Steven Khalil revealed on social media “what a time” he’d enjoyed with the pair during a stop in Milan before the big proposal.
