George Clooney & other stars congratulate Brad and Ange on their secret wedding

It seems George Clooney was just as shocked as the rest of the world when he found out that his close friends had tied the knot in a surprise wedding over the weekend.

Nonetheless, George, 53, was completely over the moon when he heard that good pal Brad Pitt had finally married his long-time partner, Angelina Jolie in what could possibly be Hollywood’s best kept secret.

The one-time notorious bachelor, who is set to get hitched himself any day now, told People he is thrilled for the happy couple and their six young children.

And proving to be quite the gentleman, the actor wasn’t one bit fazed that Brangelina beat him and his lawyer fiancé, Amal Alamuddin, to the altar or that he wasn’t invited to the nuptials.

“How great is that?! George said.

“I’m really happy for Brad and Angie and their whole family.”

Brad, 50, and Ange, 39, married in a top-secret ceremony at their lavish Chateau Miravel estate in France last Saturday surrounded by close family and friends.

But one person missing from the exclusive event was Ange’s dad, Jon Voight.

Though Ange and Jon had previously been estranged for years before repairing their father/daughter relationship 2010, the 75-year-old actor was reportedly invited to the nuptials but attended the Emmy’s in LA instead.

A representative for the couple told the Associated Press that Maddox, 13, Pax, 11, Zahara, 9, Shiloh, 8, and 6-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne all took part in the private ceremony.

Maddox and Pax and Knox are believed to have played ring while Zahara, Shiloh and Vivienne were the flower girls with baskets of rose petals they’d picked in the garden on the estate that morning, in details revealed by a source to E! News.

“It sounds like it was a wonderful wedding. It must have been very beautiful with the kids participating. I know it was during Emmy weeks and they were able to do it very quietly,” Jon told E! News in a statement.

Meanwhile, other celebs who are absolutely thrilled for Mr. and Mrs. Pitt include Ellen DeGeneres who took to twitter to share her excitement.

‘Brad & Angelina got married! It was a very intimate ceremony with family & close friends. At least that’s what the bouncer out front told me,” she joked.
