Devilishly good looking, cheeky, a former military man… There’s not much Prince Harry can’t do.
In fact, we’re 100% certain he’s the crowning expert at putting the charming after Prince.
But why is everyone completely smitten with the royal redhead?
We’ve expertly narrowed it down to five key reasons, so without further ado…
1. A royal romantic
The 32-year-old halted the world in its tracks when he declared he was just a man, standing in front of girl, telling her he loves her.
That’s right; in his very own rom-com moment, Harry announced to the world that he was a bachelor no more, in the most epic of statements.
In a highly unprecedented move, last November the royal confirmed American actress Meghan Markle was his girlfriend in a statement via his communication secretary, urging the public to be respectful towards her.
He has since gone on to do some major wooing, from introducing her to his family to whisking her away on a ridiculously romantic getaway to see the Northern Lights.
2. A former bad boy
Harry is royalty’s answer to The O.C.’s Ryan Atwood.
The Prince may not wear a singlet top and hoodie, but boy has he had some naughty moments.
Now fully reformed, Harry has admitted that during his school days he always wanted to be a “bad boy.”
“I didn’t enjoy school at all. When I was at school I wanted to be the bad boy,” Harry told kids at Ottery Youth Centre in Cape Town.
He certainly carried that mentality through his late teens and early twenties.
During high school, Harry loved to party.
A senior official at St James’s Palace confirmed that Prince Charles had been aware of his son’s drug-taking and was concerned.
“We acknowledge that on several occasions last summer, Prince Harry experimented with cannabis. It is not that he had or has a serious problem, but he did take the drug,” a statement read in 2002.
And who could forget those naked photos of Prince Harry partying in Las Vegas in 2012?
Sometimes, when Harry dishes out spades of sass during interviews it reminds us of his more rebellious streak.
But he’s come a long way since those days… Which brings us to our next reason.
3. Attention Captain Wales
Destiny’s Child imparted many lessons, one was that we need a solider to carry big things if you know what they mean…
And Prince Harry did know what they mean, deciding to personally carry the safety of the British people on his shoulders.
For a decade, the fifth-in-line-to-the-throne paid no heed to his royal tie, putting all his focus on serving his nation.
By the time he was 30, Prince Harry had an impressive career, one that took him to the front line in Afghanistan twice.
In 2015 Kensington Palace confirmed that, “the Prince has had a fulfilling military career and considers it a huge honour to have served his country in the Armed Forces.”
But he made a decision to leave the Army after coming to a “crossroad in my military career,” and today he has officially said good-bye to the armed forces.
4. Using his power for good
Harry may not be on the frontlines anymore, but serving is still his main focus.
Since leaving the armed forces, the 32-year-old has thrown himself in his charity and humanitarian work.
Supporting over 22 causes, Harry puts his efforts in helping the welfare of animals, children, raising mental health awareness, aiding the disadvantaged and focusing on supporting veterans.
Two of his crowning gems include the Invictus Games and the Sentebale charity.
Harry founded The Invictus Games, an international adaptive sporting event for wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women, both serving and veteran.
In 2006, he and Prince Seeiso founded Sentebale – which means “forget me not” in Sesotho – after a gap year trip to Lesotho, where one in three children have lost a parent to an AIDS-related illness.
5. Continuing his mother’s legacy
The youngest child of Princess Diana has spoken how his mother’s influence is one of the driving attributes behind his desire to give back.
In fact, the Princess was the inspiration behind Harry setting up Sentebale.
“I want to do something really constructive with my life. I want to do something that makes my mother proud,” he has mused.
“My mother stood for something. There’s a lot of unfinished business and a lot of work that my mother never completed,” Harry explained.
The young royal was just 12 years old when he lost his mother.
“I don’t have that many memories of my childhood with my Mum,” he admitted during a chat with People.
“All I want to do is make my mother incredibly proud. That’s all I’ve ever wanted to do.”
Honourable Mentions
Narrowing down just five reasons behind why Prince Harry is ridiculously swoon-worthy is difficult work.
We’d like to take a moment to also acknowledge that the 32-year-old is also a very sweet little brother to Prince William, an adoring brother-in-law to Duchess Catherine, the ultimate cool uncle to Prince George and Princess Charlotte and we hope his crazy competitive edge never falters.
