Pippa Middleton was dubbed “her royal hotness” when she turned heads at Kate and Prince William’s royal wedding in 2011 and now, according to one snooty critic, she’s stolen the spotlight again.
The Duchess of Cambridge’s sister wore a strikingly similar dress to Kate at the christening of her daughter, Princess Charlotte at the weekend and it has some accusing Pippa of trying to upstage her sister.
In a cream knee length Emilia Wickstead dress 31-year-old Pippa looked to be channelling Kate’s Alexander McQueen frock with almost indistinguishable pumps and a cream hat.
Etiquette expert William Hanson told the Mail Online that turning up to an event in the same colour as the host is a shameful faux pas.
“If attending an event where you are on good terms with the host then asking what colour they are planning on wearing is good manners so you avoid clashing too much,” he told the Daily Mail.
Hanson also took a swipe at Pippa’s flattering white dress she wore to the royal wedding.
“When it comes to dress codes, the old rule of a female guest not wearing white or black to weddings does still apply, however, many people say that that rule is archaic.”
In closing Hason called Pippa’s minor fashion incident “irritating”.
“Pippa doesn’t need to resort to cheap tricks,” Hanson said. “She is perfectly pretty in her own right and the press would more-or-less have gushed over whatever she wore.”
While some decided to get could up in a game of spot-the-difference with Kate and Pippa, the christening attendee who stole the show wasn’t in a frock at all – he was wearing a cute red and white outfit.
Yes, even with the very stiff fashion competition Prince George was the stylish highlight at his sister’s christening wearing a similar ensemble to what his father, Prince William wore as a child.
The Queen was in attendance at the event as well as Prince Philip, Prince Charles, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall and Kate’s family Carole and Michael Middleton and her brother James also attended.
Catherine and Pippa are close sisters with a good friendship so it’s inevitable they would have similar fashion sense.
Here are ten times they almost wore the same thing.
