Harry’s sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, shared her joy over the happy news as she stepped out for the first time since the big news made headlines.

“William and I are absolutely thrilled,” she told reporters early Tuesday at the Foundling Museum in London. “It’s such exciting news. It’s a really happy time for any couple and we wish them all the best and hope they enjoy this happy moment.”

The Duchess said she’s “absolutely thrilled” over Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s engagement.

The Duchess was at the museum to learn more about the museum’s history and the way it uses art and creativity to support children and vulnerable families. There, she chatted happily with families and youngsters who have benefited from the museum’s education and outreach programs.

Kate — who is pregnant with her third child, due in April — opted for a patterned dress by Kate Spade for the occasion. The collared-ensemble featured an empire waist detail, which perfectly accented her growing bump.

Kate’s growing baby bump was visible in all its beautiful glory while visiting the Foundling Museum in London.

The 35-year-old is expecting her third little prince or princess in April.

During the visit, the Duchess met with families and children who have benefited from the museum’s education and outreach programs.

It’s a thumbs up from this royal!

In their first-ever joint interview, Harry and Meghan credited the Duchess with supporting their relationship early in the piece.

“It was exciting. I mean, I’ve, you know, I’d been seeing her for a period of time when I literally didn’t tell anybody at all,” Harry told BBC News broadcaster Mishal Husain. “And then William was longing to meet her and so was Catherine, so you know being our neighbors we managed to get that in a couple of, well, quite a few times now, and Catherine has been absolutely . . .”

“She’s been wonderful,” Meghan finished.

Harry, 33, and Meghan, 36, went on to reveal that they became engaged over a roast chicken dinner at their home, Nottingham Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace.

“It happened a few weeks ago, earlier this month, here at our cottage; just a standard typical night for us. Roasting a chicken… trying to roast a chicken,” Harry said of the private moment.

“She didn’t even let me finish, she said ‘can I say yes, can I say yes?’ and then there were hugs and I had the ring in my finger and I was like can I — can I give you the ring? She goes — oh yes the ring.”

The newly-engaged duo have been together for just over a year.

Meghan’s engagement ring is set on a gold band, and features a diamond from Botswana — a place close to each of their hearts following several trips there as a couple — and two side stones which were taken from Harry’s mother, Diana’s, personal collection.

“It was a really nice moment, it was just the two of us and I think managed to catch her by surprise as well.”

“It was so sweet and natural and very romantic,” Meghan added.

The duo are set to marry at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in May 2018.
