When Meghan Markle married Prince Harry in St. George’s Chapel last month, her mother Doria Ragland was the only member of her immediate family in attendance. It was a BIG moment and she handled it with the grace and elegance usually reserved for that of a lladro figurine.
Now, the yoga instructor and social worker has shared her favourite part of the lavish celebrations.

A source revealed to Us Weekly that, aside from watching her daughter become the Duchess of Sussex, her personal high involved meeting Queen Elizabeth II.
“Doria is saying the biggest highlight of the wedding, of course after watching her daughter say ‘I do’ to the man she loves, was meeting the queen,” the insider said, before adding: “It would have been extremely intimidating for anyone, but Meghan and Harry really did a marvelous job of preparing her [with] what to expect.”
And who could blame her?! We have about 1,000 questions we’d love to ask the beloved monarch, starting with should jam or cream go first?
Aside from the new Pippa Middleton, aka Meghan Markle’s bestie Jessica Mulroney, Doria Ragland was arguably the stand-out star of the royal wedding.
On what was probably the most intense day of her life as she witnessed her daughter marry into one of the oldest institutions, the British Royal Family, Doria remained cool and composed as she quietly wept tears of joy.
Throughout her life and indeed her whirlwind romance with Prince Harry, the 61-year-old has been an incredible pillar of strength, stability and support to Meghan.
Speaking about her mum, Meghan has said Doria is a “free-spirited” role model.
“For me to watch this level of lifelong sensitivity to nurturing and caregiving, but at the same time my mum has always been a free spirit.”
“She’s got dreadlocks and a nose ring. She just ran the LA Marathon. We can just have so much fun together, and yet, I’ll still find so much solace in her support,” Meghan, 36, has previously beamed.

Harry, 33, is also a huge fan of his new mother-in-law, with the pair spending “a lot of time” together over the past few months getting to know each other.
“Her mum’s amazing,” Harry beamed during their engagement interview in November.
