Deborra-Lee Furness joined The Project’s panel last night to discuss her husband and continue her campaign for Australian adoption.
The bubbly blonde had the show’s audience in stitches when she shared her views on Hugh’s unique Instagram game.
The Oscar winner still gets a stern talking to when he decides to go rogue and share cringe-worthy flashbacks.
“I get grumpy when he puts bad ones up,” she laughed, telling hosts Carrie Bickmore, Waleed Aly and Peter Helliar.
But it seems like some of Hugh’s throwback photos have put in him in his wife’s good books – in particular his most recent one.
“That was my birthday. I came home and the whole room was full of balloons,” she revealed.
Adding, “He’s very romantic, I love that!”
The panel quickly steered the conversation to their romantic relationship, where Deb was asked whether she prefers “Wolverine Hugh” or “song and dance man Hugh”.
Not missing a beat, she quipped, “Depends what mood I’m in!”
In fact it seems like there’s a bit of role playing in the Jackman/Furness-Lee household, with Deb joking she always gives Hugh “a heads up” on which [character] she is in the mood for.
“I get to have all these affairs with all these different characters!”
Adding to his rotation of characters, Deborra-Lee’s definitely campaigning for Hugh to be the next Bond, but admits she’s not a fan of all the kissing involved with the Bond girls!
Joking aside, the mother of two adopted kids, Ava and Oscar, was there to discuss a matter that is incredibly close to her and Hugh’s heart.
The 59-year-old advocate chatted to Carrie Bickmore and her co-panellists about National Adoption Awareness Week (NAAW).
Deb is one of Australia’s leading forces for adoption reform, and she is urging everyone to get involved with the awareness week’s new campaign, 15,000 Stories.
The campaign encourages parents to read bedtime stories to their children as a reminder that there are 15,000 children waiting for adoption who don’t have a parent to do that for them.
In the past 24 hours a range of Australian celebrities have backed the inspiring charity, including, Rove McManus, Hamish Blake and Andy Lee.
