She may be our very own Australian princess, but Crown Princess Mary has shown her patriotism with her adorable family as they cheered on the Danish handball team at the World Championship final against Norway.

Dressed in the national colours of red and white, the Danish royal accompanied her husband, Crown Prince Frederik, and their children Prince Christian, 13, Princess Isabella, 11 and Prince Vincent, eight, to the sporting event and was spotted cheering enthusiastically from the stands.

The family, minus their fourth child Princess Josephine, casually walked the red carpet prior to the event and posed for photos at Jyske Bank Boxen.

Following Denmark’s impressive 31-22 against Norway, which was also the nation’s first ever handball world title win, Crown Prince Frederik presented the team with their gold medals and even let his guard down with some big, friendly hugs.

The Danish royals also shared a sweet photo on their official Instagram account of the family smiling in the stands.

The Crown Princess is quite the sportswoman herself. In her youth, she was a competitive horse rider and was described as an active sportswoman back when she attended Hobart Matriculation College.

And it seems that her daughters have inherited her love of horses as well. At the Hubertus Hunt, Denmark’s annual horse racing event held in November, Princess Isabella and Princess Josephine presented the girls’ category with their trophies and a snap of Princess Isabella cuddling up with one of the horses was shared on the royals’ official Instagram page.

Mary and Frederik, who met in Sydney during the 2000 Olympic Games, can usually be spotted at sporting events around the world, from the stands at the Rio Olympics, to sailing the high seas at the CYCA SOLAS Big Boat Challenge.

Earlier this month, new portraits of Crown Princess Mary and Crown Prince Frederik’s twins were revealed in honour of their eighth birthday.

“Today, D.K.H. Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine turn eight years old, and on the occasion of their birthday, the Crown Prince Couple has the pleasure to share a number of new pictures of your Royal Highnesses,” the Palace said on Instagram.
