Prince Harry has gone another step further in making his two year relationship with Cressida Bonas seem official by inviting his 25-year-old girlfriend as his date to a private dinner he will be hosting at St James’ Palace.
The prince will throw the party in honour of friends he made whilst on the 335 kilometre journey to the South Pole before Christmas for his patron charity, Walking With The Wounded.
According to the UK’s The Mail on Sunday a source close to the palace said guests of the event have been told they can invite their partners and “Harry has told Cressida she is welcome to come along.”
If Miss Bonas, who works in marketing, attends the March 27 event with her host-date then she’s inevitably likely to be involved in ensuring the evening runs smoothly.
While it’s unclear exactly what duties Cressida may have on the night, she’s unlikely to be in charge of formally greeting guests upon arrival as the Duchess of Cambridge does when hosting events with Prince William.
According to the British press insiders speculate that the relaxed affair will be without the usual stresses of a royal event and therefore would be a perfect opportunity to introduce Cressida to royal duties.
“Harry and his mates went through thick and thin together, so the dinner party will be a really relaxed and jovial affair,” says a source. “But there is no doubt that it will be a Royal banquet, albeit a private one.”
The private couple have been less shy about hiding their relationship in the past month. They were seen laughing with arms around each other at the We Day youth event at Wembley which has caused speculation that a royal engagement may not be too far away.
