Fairytales and tiaras aren’t everybody’s happily ever after… Especially in the case of Chelsy Davy.
The Zimbaween blonde beauty was Prince Harry’s first true love.
The pair first met during their formative years at Stowe School in Buckinghamshire, and were on-again off-again from 2004 before their romance ultimately ended in 2011.
While there are many accounts as to why it didn’t work, journalist Angela Levin reports on good authority the moment it all fell apart.
Their joint chapter marked its end with Prince Harry’s decision to bring Chelsy to Prince William’s wedding to Kate Middleton… The royal wedding tipped her over.
According to Angela, after Chelsy saw how intense the public interest was in Wills and Kate – she knew she couldn’t be a wife of a Prince.
“A friend revealed that seeing the enormity and pomp of the day convinced Chelsy that she and Harry had been right to separate,” Angela penned in her royal biography, Harry: Conversations with the Prince.
“Although they had a lot in common, she saw clearly that because they came from such different worlds it could never have worked, especially as she valued her privacy and guarded it so carefully.”

Apparently Chelsy even helped Harry edit his Best Man speech.
“Harry had read it out at first over the phone to Chelsy in South Africa, who despite no longer being his steady girlfriend, has also been invited to the wedding,” an extract from the book reads.
“She suggested he remove some of the racier anecdotes, including a reference to Kate’s ‘killer legs’, as she didn’t think the Queen would take kindly to laddish humour.”
The 32-year-old, who left her legal career to become a jewellery designer, has always remained tight-lipped about her relationship with Harry.
Chelsy spoke out in 2016, telling The Times she found the spotlight “crazy and scary and uncomfortable”.
“It was so full-on: crazy, and scary, and uncomfortable. I found it very difficult when it was bad. I couldn’t cope.”
She added, “I think we will always be good friends.”
And Chelsy was right.
Harry’s ex nabbed an invite to his wedding to Meghan Markle…
Though the pretty blonde didn’t seem to be feeling too chuffed about the lovefest.
A report from Vanity Fair claimed the former lovers had an emotional final phone call just days before the royal wedding with Chelsy almost pulling out of attending the ceremony all together.
“It was their final call, a parting call in which they both acknowledged Harry was moving on,” a close family friend tells the glossy.
“Chelsy was quite emotional about it all, she was in tears and almost didn’t go to the wedding. In the end, she went and promised Harry she wouldn’t try and gatecrash the party.”
