The Queen’s granddaughter and her former rugby player husband held the event at St Nicholas Church in the village of Cherington.

The couple’s families, including Queen Elizabeth and The Duke of Edinburgh, Princess Anne and Prince William attended the christening of Mia, who was born in January this year.  The Duchess of Cambridge, who is pregnant with her second child, was not present. She was believed to be with Prince George at Anmer Hall in Norfolk.

The group reportedly had a Sunday lunch before attending the church service.

Mia, who is 16th in line to throne, has only been seen out with her parents a handful of times, but Zara and Mike have spoken publicly about their daughter and the way they will raise her.

Zara, 33, who is an equestrian champion, was unable to ride during her pregnancy.

She told The Express she dropped her baby weight by pushing her daughter in a buggy for “weight training” runs.

“I’ve never not ridden for that long and never not been that fit for that long either, so it was hard trying to get each muscle group to… remember what they used to do,” she told the newspaper.

The royal recently qualified for the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
