Ellie Drennan beat a busker, Joe Moore, during the live finale.
Ellie was coached by British newcomer Jessie J, who then announced that she was leaving Australia today to go touring.
“I have to go and do my career,” she said, adding: “I’m a phone call away, I’m a whatsapp away, I will always be here for advice … but this is it now, big girl world.”
Ellie won $100,000 cash, a recording contract with Universal Music and a car.
