Cast your mind back — way, way back — to the time when Shania Twain’s hit single “That Don’t Impress Me Much” ruled the airwaves in 1997.
To refresh your memory, the hit single included the infamous line: “Okay, so you’re Brad Pitt / That don’t impress me much / So you got the looks but have you got the touch.”
And now, all these years later, the country singer has finally explained what was so, well, unimpressive about the heartthrob.
“You want to know the truth about this story? I’ve never told this before. I’m going to say it now,” she said. “I remember I had a girlfriend visiting me and it was near Christmas and we were baking cookies. I was writing this album and there was a scandal of [Pitt] and Gwyneth [Paltrow] where there was naked photos of him [in the magazine]. And this was like all the rage.”
She continued:” I just thought ‘I don’t know what all the fuss is about.’ I’m like, well that don’t impress me much, I mean what is all the fuss.”
The photos in question, which showed the actor nude on holiday in the Caribbean with then-girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow, appeared in Playgirl magazine. Brad, who was 33 when the photos were published, successfully sued the publication at the time, stopping shipment of more copies of the issue and eventually forcing its recall.
Shania, now 51, insisted that she wasn’t “picking” on Brad — after all, she wasn’t impressed by rocket scientists or men with flashy cars either.
“I mean what is all the fuss,” she continued. “We see people naked every day. That’s really what I thought. I wasn’t picking on Brad Pitt. But that was just the association in that moment and things we make fusses about and whatever.”
She added: “Of course, it could have been any gorgeous guy.”

It’s been a tumultuous time for the Allied actor, who recently opened up about his highly-publicised split from Angelina Jolie.
“I’m personally very retarded when it comes to taking inventory of my emotions. I’m much better at covering up,” he said in a candid interview for GQ Style. “I grew up with a Father-knows-best/war mentality — the father is all-powerful, super strong — instead of really knowing the man and his own self-doubt and struggles.”
He explained that the demise of his marriage acted as a wakeup call, forcing him to reassess his lifestyle — particularly, his drinking habits.
Brad began dating Gwyn in 1994 after meeting her on the set of Seven, popping the question two years later. Of course, they broke off their engagement in 1997.
“I was boozing too much,” he said. “It’s just become a problem. And I’m really happy it’s been half a year now, which is bittersweet, but I’ve got my feelings in my fingertips again.”
“Truthfully I could drink a Russian under the table with his own vodka. I was a professional. I was good.”
By all accounts, Brad, who now lives in Hollywood Hills, California, with his bulldog, Jacques, is on the road to recovery.
