Mysteriously, the much loved host of the BBC’s QI gameshow, says that he cannot tweet because it is “unsafe”.
“Closing down on Twitter while filming,” Fry, 57, posted to Twitter.
“In a place whence I’ve been advised it is safest not to tweet. See you December. Here goes…”
It has sparked speculation about Fry’s next project. A true renaissance man with a huge array of interests, passions and projects, Fry could be getting up to almost anything over the next month.
Conjecture from fans is that Fry is in filming for Star Wars Episode VII, which is scheduled for release on December 18. The seventh film to be released in the Star Wars saga has conducted filming in Iceland, the United Arab Emirates’ Abu Dhabi.
Another fan quipped, “You’re either filming in Parliament or a football club dressing room then. Good luck, see you in December.”
The announcement demonstrates a quandary experienced by other celebrities. Gone are the days of privacy and top-down publicity machines. Nowadays, individuals in the public spotlight need to grapple with the insatiable demand for content, multitudinous mediums and filter-free contact with their fans.
