Chris Hemsworth has revealed why he married his wife Elsa Pataky after the pair dated for less than a year.
On Thursday’s Good Morning Britain 32-year-old Australian actor gushed about his wife of five years and mother to his three children.
“It did happen quick and it just felt right, it made sense,” Chris said about his wedding to Spanish actress Elsa whom he met in 2010 and married in December that same year.
“There was no great plan to any of it to be honest,” the former Home and Away actor said. “We were on holiday and we said, ‘why don’t we get married too?’, and then the next minute… There probably should have been some planning but it all worked out.
“Honestly, we had both our families on holiday at the same time, just randomly, and we said this is a good opportunity with everyone together so we just did it.”
After just two years of marriage Elsa gave birth to the couple’s first child, a girl named India who is now three, and then later added twin boys, Sasha and Tristan.
Chris and Elsa seem happily settled with their children in Byron Bay on the NSW north coast and of family life, a down to earth Chris described fatherhood as “refreshing”.
“It’s not about you anymore which is refreshing and my kids are hilarious and insane and crazy – it’s good,” said Chris.
“You go from press tours and work and then straight back into reality and you’re handed a child with a nappy.”
After an Easter weekend spent with his family at Byron’s Blues and Roots festival Chris jetted off back to his A-lister duties and was in Europe to promote his new movie The Huntsman: Winter’s War.
