Bobbi Kristina won’t be taken off life support this week

The family of Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston's only child Bobbi Kristina are not yet giving up hope that she could come out of her three week long coma and fully recover.

Bobbi Kristina Brown, who has been hospitalised since she was found unconscious in her bathtub on Jan. 31, will not be taken off life support this week, Bobby Brown’s lawyer Christopher Brown reportedly told PEOPLE magazine.

The lawyer calls reports of such activity “false.”

The only child of the late Whitney Houston and R&B star Bobby Brown remains at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta and a close relative reportedly told PEOPLE the situation remains dire.

“There hasn’t been a change in the past week,” the family member said Sunday.

Three days ago TMZ reported that the 21-year-old’s organs were “shutting down” and said that family members confirmed her brain function was minimal.

Bobbi Kristina was found by partner Nick Gordon, face down and unresponsive in the bathtub of her Georgia home three weeks ago in circumstances so eerily similar to that of her mother, legendary pop Queen, Whitney Houston.

Houston was 48 when she was found drowned in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton hotel in LA in 2012.

Authorities reportedly found a cocktail of prescription pills in her suite and listed heart disease and cocaine use as contributors – Houston’s battle with substance abuse had been the fodder of media headlines for many years in the lead up to her death.

Bobbi Kristina was only 18 years old at the time of her mother’s death and is the sole heir to her estate.

February 11 marked the three year anniversary since Whitney’s death and Brown has reportedly suffered deep emotional hardship since.

The aspiring singer was reportedly involved in a car crash days before being found unresponsive by her boyfriend and friend Max Lomas.

According to PEOPLE, Brown reportedly lost control while driving her Jeep and crashed with another vehicle on Jan. 27, injuring two people.

The Roswell Police Department in Georgia confirmed on Feb. 11 that the case involving Brown’s bathtub incident is a criminal investigation.

“The incident has always been under criminal investigation,” the police said in a press release. “Criminal investigations may or may not result in criminal charges being brought against individuals.”

At this stage, few details about Bobbi Kristina’s medical condition have been officially released but her father, Bobby Brown said he still has hope for recovery.

“We continue to request privacy in this matter,” said Mr Brown in a statement to E! news. “We thank everyone that supports Bobbi Kristina and God is hearing our prayers.”

Another man hoping for Bobbi’s recovery is Whitney Houston’s former Bodyguard co-star Kevin Costner.

Costner – who gave a touch eulogy at the funeral of Whitney Houston in 2012 – says Bobbi Kristina’s fate isn’t yet sealed.

“My thoughts are probably similar to everyone, which is obviously, the similarities, what’s going on, the worry that this might have happened again,” he told America’s Nightline. “Where is this little girl going to go when you lose your mother?”

He added, “I hope that God opens her eyes and lets her breathe and lets her brain work, and she gets a second chance.”
