Sure – we’ve all been there at one point or another. When plied with a few glasses of wine and another couple of celeb mags, we’ll point to legs, or hair, or busts of other women and say ‘I want that!’
It might’ve started when we began to turn up to the hairdressers in the 90s with pictures of Jennifer Aniston and ask for ‘The Rachel’, but whatever the origins, we’ve all picked and coveted perfect celebrity parts, whether it’s Elle MacPherson’s legs, or Kate Middleton’s glossy locks.
But have you really ever stopped to think about which celebrity body parts you’d knick if you had the chance?
Well, these 1000 people have, and they’ve thought about it a lot.
The 500 men and 500 women were asked by lingerie brand Bluebella to create their ‘perfect bodies’ (a male and a female) by picking only from celebriy body parts.
But, as it turns out (and at no surprise to us), what men think of as the ‘perfect body’ and what women do are totally different. For women, we tend to focus on being fit and lithe, whereas men are more likely to go for voluptuous and curvy – think Gwyneth Paltrow versus Kim Kardashian.
To further the sense of impossibility, most of the body parts came from bikini-clad celebs, supermodels and pro athletes, so unless we are suddenly blessed with a genetic DNA shift and a great personal trainer, it’s safe to say these leggy and totally unattainable bodies are far, far out of our grasps.
Oh well, it can’t hurt to dream, can it?
Face: Women’s choice: Cara Delevingne, Men’s Choice: Megan Fox
When it comes to faces, us girls prefer a bit of edge, which is why British model Cara Delevingne ranked number one for us. Prefering sultry over edgy, the guys chose bombshell Megan Fox.
Hair: Women’s choice: Kate Middleton, Men’s Choice: Scarlett Johansson
Kate’s perpetually perfect glossy tresses got the vote from women for their top hair pick, but the guys seemed to prefer the blonde look, going with Scarlett Johansson instead.
Breasts: Women’s choice: Jennifer Aniston, Men’s Choice: Kim Kardashian
It’s not as though we’ve seen them often, but nevertheless, Jennifer Aniston was the ladies’ top vote for preferred busts. Men went for Kim Kardashian’s voluptuous look.
Stomach: Women’s choice: Gwyneth Paltrow, Men’s Choice: Michelle Keegan
We think it’s a positive reflection on us ladies that we chose mother-of-two Gwyneth Paltrow’s fit abs as our ideal, even when we were faced with the guy’s choice, model and actress Michelle Keegan, as an option.
Hips: Women’s choice: Emma Watson, Men’s Choice: Kelly Brook
Choosing fit over curvy again, the ladies of the survey chose Emma Watson’s slim look, over the guy’s choice, Kelly Brook.
Legs: Women’s choice: Elle MacPherson, Men’s Choice: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
When it came to legs, how could the ladies go past Elle ‘The Body’ MacPherson? The guys went with Victoria’s Secret model turned actress, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
Face: Women’s choice: Jamie Dornan, Men’s Choice: David Beckham
Fifty Shades of Grey must have rubbed off well on the ladies (excuse us), because our top ‘face’ pick was the suave Jamie Dornan. The men would rather look like David Beckham, it seems (we’re really not picky, either way).
Hair: Women’s choice: Harry Styles, Men’s Choice: Brad Pitt
As for hair, the girls went for teenage heartthrob Harry Styles and his rockstar tresses, whilst the boys went with Brad Pitt’s hairstyle. The only question they didn’t answer was: which one?!
Arms: Women’s choice: Brad Pitt, Men’s Choice: Hugh Jackman
Brad Pitt seemed to be a popular choice in this survey, as he also took out Ladies Choice for Arms (who could blame them?). Aussie star Hugh Jackman was the men’s champion.
Torso: Women’s choice: David Gandy, Men’s Choice: Ryan Gosling
In what was probably the hardest choice ever, women chose model David Gandy’s torso as their ideal for a man, whereas the guys went with Ryan Gosling (are we the only ones that thought that would be switched around?)
Legs: Women’s choice: David Beckham, Men’s Choice: Frank Lampard
The battle of the legs came down to two soccer players, David Beckham and Frank Lampard. The girls went with David, the boys with Frank.
