She’s one of the biggest names in the world, but Victoria Beckham has made the surprise admission that she’s not the Queen Bee many may think she is.
“I don’t have a lot of friends but I’m surrounded by people I genuinely like to be with,” the fashion designer and mum-of-four tells Elle magazine.
And those people tend to be her family, rather than other A-listers.
“I’m very close to my sister and a friend I went to school with, and then three or four others,” she reveals. “I think a true friend understands that you can’t see them as much as you might want, because they’re busy as well.”
Despite not seeing her friends as much as she would like Victoria says, “I never, ever feel lonely,” and with her and hubby David’s four gorgeous kids – Brooklyn, 18, Romeo, 14, Cruz, 12, and Harper, five – to look after, there’s no doubt plenty to keep her busy.
In fact, while Victoria’s career is at an all-time high, she always makes time for her children.
“I don’t travel much because I don’t want to be away from the children,” she says, before jokingly adding, “It’s quite nice, when you’re a working mum, to have a night in a hotel… It sounds silly, but when was the last time I lay in a bath? Everything’s always so quick, quick, quick.”
Meanwhile, while she might not have many that many pals, Victoria – who turned 43 earlier this week – has a pretty cool consolation prize: her shiny new OBE!
Posh received the prestigious honour for her services to fashion and charity at Buckingham Palace on April 20 from HRH Prince William.
“Wonderful day celebrating with my beautiful family,” the proud star wrote on Instagram following the ceremony. “Feeling incredibly proud.” Congrats!
