She might be one of the most famous women in the world but Victoria Beckham insists she can still sneak around incognito.
In a recent interview with Vogue Australia the 41-year-old pop star and fashion designer, who married footballer David Beckham in 1999, said that her fame doesn’t stop her ducking out to the shops and going unrecognised.
“A lot of people probably don’t even notice me,” Victoria told Australian Vogue. “I’ll dash around Marks & Spencer in my flat shoes, head down, with a shopping basket… occasionally at the checkout, a cashier will say, ‘You look just like Victoria Beckham’.”
Since marrying David in 1999 the former Spice girl has been one half of Britain’s most famous celebrity power couple and together they have had four children; Brooklyn, 16, Romeo, 12, Cruz, 10, and daughter Harper, who is almost 4.
And while America celebrated their Independence Day on July 4 the Beckham Brood celebrated Victoria and David’s 16th wedding anniversary across the pond in with a formal family dinner.
Victoria took to Twitter to share an intimate snap of her family, writing, “Happy anniversary, I love u so much x I’m so proud of our beautiful family x.”
In her interview with Vogue Posh Spice also spoke about how she copes with being at the helm of a blooming fashion empire as well how she tries to raise her kids.
“The three boys love football like their dad: they love all sport, not just football,” she admitted. “And they’re into so many other things. They love art, they’re very creative, very arty. Brooklyn loves photography, he’s got a really great eye.”
And while all her boys play soccer – emulating their father’s footsteps – Victoria did admit she would ‘love one of our children’ to go into the fashion business.
“I would rather her go into fashion than be in a pop group I have to say,” she told. “But I did have fun doing that.”
“Harper loves putting on my high heels and playing with my make-up,” she added. “But she also has football boots and she runs around in the garden with her brothers.
“So I am not sure whether she will follow what you do or what I do, but I think what everyone wants for their kids is just for them to be happy, whatever that means they do.”
