Uma Thurman has responded to the many questions about changed appearance after she stepped out looking ‘unrecognizable’ at the red carpet premiere of her new mini-series The Slap.
While promoting the new series on USA Today she addressed the questions around her ‘new face’.
“Um, I don’t know. I guess nobody liked my makeup,” she said.
“I mean, I’ve been doing this for years and years and years, and people say things nice and they say things mean.”
The actress was unfazed by the buzz, saying “you take the good with the bad”.
Meanwhile, PEOPLE magazine chatted to her make-up artist Troy Surratt, who was quite surprised by the backlash. Troy explained that he “experimented” with the actresses’ look.
“I think that women should feel open and free to experiment with different beauty looks — it’s only makeup, at the end of the day it all washes off.”
Troy described the look he created on Uma as “effortless Parisienne chic,” focusing on her lips and complexion with no mascara was used at all!
To all those that thought she had surgery, in Uma’s words “It’s just like, whatever”.
