He rose to fame playing the adorable Jake Harper in the hugely-popular yet just as troubled show, Two and a Half Men, and now the former child star is all grown up.
This week Angus T. Jones stepped out in California looking unrecognisable with a scruffy bear, long ponytail and glasses – a far cry from the baby-faced boy on the family sitcom.
It’s hard to believe it’s been 13 years since we first met Angus. In 2003, the chubby-cheeked cutie from Texas became a household name thanks to his break-out role on Two and a Half Men alongside Charlie Sheen, Jon Cryer and later Ashton Kutcher.
By 2010 at just 17, he became the highest-paid child star in history earning a whopping $AUD418, 856 per episode.
But it all came crashing down in 2012 when Angus filmed a bizarre video for the Forerunner Chronicles Christian group, slamming the very show that had made him so successful.
“Jake from Two and a Half Men means nothing. He is a non-existent character,” he fumed.
“If you watch Two and a Half Men, please stop. I’m on Two and a Half Men and I don’t want to be on it. Please stop watching it and filling your head with filth. People say it’s just entertainment.”
“Do some research on the effects of television and your brain, and I promise you you’ll have a decision to make when it comes to television, especially with what you watch.”
As a result of his rant, he was demoted to a casual cast member but rarely appeared on the show except for a few odd cameos.
Of course, he wasn’t the only star on the show to go rogue with Charlie Sheen’s famous attack against CBS eventually getting him fired and replaced with Ashton Kutcher.
These days the 22-year-old, who is a Seventh-day Adventist, lives a normal life out of the spotlight.
