Taking your daughter to Disney World is pretty hard to top, but Tom Cruise has one-upped Katie Holmes’s magical treat for Suri. According to our sources close to Tom, who’s looking after her as she turns seven this week, he’s taken Katie’s Mickey Mouse – and raised her a Hello Kitty!
On top of reports Tom splashed out on a $7 million private jet to ferry Suri from New York to LA, an insider confirms exclusively to Woman’s Day details of Tom’s incredible, money-can’t-buy gift.
“Tom’s assistant, his lawyer and his sister Lee Anne DeVette have been working to get a team of artists within Scientology to create a raft of Hello Kitty-themed presents that incorporates a special character named Suri,” explains our source. “She’ll have a DVD adventure to watch where Kitty meets her new best friend Suri. They’re also making book and school supplies incorporating Suri.”
It’s a unique present for Suri, who’s often seen toting gear emblazoned with the kitten logo. And Tom, 50, called in the heavy guns to make sure he was allowed to re-create the multimillion-dollar cartoon cat juggernaut. “Tom’s lawyer had to be involved to make sure they didn’t break copyright, but apparently it’s fine for them to use all this stuff privately so long as they don’t sell it,” the source tells us.
