Actress, brunette, Scientologist… she ticks all the right boxes.
When it was revealed last week that Katie Holmes was linked to actor and writer Alex Schemmer, those close to her ex-husband Tom Cruise knew it was only a matter of time before he showed off his new relationship.
Now, sources close to Tom, 50, confirm to Woman’s Day that he is indeed diving into the dating scene again. He’s also making it his mission to find a bride from within Scientology – and it appears he has already found Katie’s successor. Last week, Tom reportedly attended the Scientology Patrons Ball in London with a “striking short-haired date”.
A UK magazine has already linked Tom to actress Lana Parrilla, 35, star of US drama series Once Upon A Time and someone who bears a striking resemblance to his former wife. A source is quoted as saying, “Lana’s a Scientologist and everyone who knows her says she should go after Tom.” The news Tom is dating again, six days after Woman’s Day reported Katie, 33, had been flirting with handsome and clever Alex, 31, comes as no surprise to her.
“Katie knew that the moment he heard about her and Alex, he would want a pretty girl on his arm at a public event,” a friend says. “Given that Scientology was the cause of their relationship falling apart, it makes sense to Katie that Tom wants to date a Scientologist.”
