The actress was visiting the set of the Today Show in New York to promote her latest film, Zoolander 2 when the host Savannah Guthrie decided to question her about her trotters.
“I don’t even know how I feel about this, I think you said it, that you, despite what you look like… you’ve said you have ugly feet,” Savannah explained.
But the Spanish starlet, who is married to Javier Bardem, was quick to slam the strange accusation.
“No, no, no, no! I haven’t said that!” The 41-year-old cried as she shook her head in shock.
“I haven’t said that. I’m OK, I’m OK with my feet. I haven’t said that,” she added.
Things became even more tense when Savannah tried to justify her off-colour comments.
“Because you were a dancer?” She asked.
“When you’re a ballet dancer you lose your toenails, you get used to throwing them away that’s what I mean,” Penelope clarified.
“Your feet are pretty?” Savannah then interrupted.
“I don’t think they’re pretty, I think they’re normal,” the actress countered.
It’s been a week full of morning TV gaffes after Sunrise in Australia were slammed for the awkward Sex And The City skit they made Kristin Davis perform.
Despite Penelope’s run-in, later that night she did what any well-respecting actress would do and put one foot in front of the other as she appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
The mother-of-two looked sensational in a feathered LDB.
But the most stylish element of her ensemble? The black peep-toe shoes which showcased her perfectly normal and unoffensive feet.
