The usually outlandish pair opted for an understated ceremony in the city, simply signing the wedding papers in a registry office with two witnesses by their side.

Following their nuptials, Herald Sun columnist Luke Dennehy shared a snap (pictured above) of the happy couple on Twitter.

“Newly married couple Geoffrey and Gabi Edelsten in today’s wedding attire,” he captioned the shot.

Speaking shortly after the ceremony, Gabi explained to the Herald Sun: “We are going to have sort of a second wedding, or a reception, in a few months where I’m going to design my dress and have more people there. But today we made it official, it’s been a long time coming.”

The model opted for a plunging glittery Diane von Furstenberg gown which she teamed with fluffy pink talons, teetering nude Louis Vuitton pumps, a fur throw and white streamers in her hair in place of a traditional veil.

Geoff, who has been married twice before, worked a matching white suit with diamante detailing and a shimmering tie.

It didn’t take long for the social media savvy stunner to post a slew of selfies from the big day, “#vegas wedding in Australia,” she captioned one post.

According to the Daily Mail Australia the pair retreated home shortly after becoming husband and wife as Gabi wasn’t feeling well.

On Wednesday, Gabi took to Instagram to announce her impending wedding: “By the end of tomorrow I’ll be OFFICIALLY MRS Gabrielle Grecko Edelsten,” she penned.

The 26-year-old accompanied the post with another detailed caption: “I’ll post all my marriage papers. So happy. Will the REAL. MRS Edelsten stand up,” presumably referring to the ongoing divorce between Geoffrey and his former wife Brynne Edelsten, which was recently settled.

A Vegas wedding in Australia!

In an interview with Daily Mail Australia the New Yorker said she wanted a “no fuss last-minute tacky Vegas theme.”

She added: “I want it to be more fun, it’s not going to be the serious wedding that I want, but we’ll do that later. I’m still planning that. I’ve designed my dress.”

As for the small number of guests, the flame-haired American explained: “Not even his mum is coming, Esther was invited but we felt because my parents couldn’t come that it wouldn’t be fair if one side was there and not the other.”

Congratulations to the couple, may they enjoy a lifetime of love.
