As the dust settles on an explosive report splashed across The Sun newspaper earlier this week, which claimed a well-known celebrity has contracted the HIV virus after “decades of debauchery”, the focus is now shifting towards the string of glamorous women he’s dated.
Woman’s Day online was the first Australian outlet to report on the allegations, and while we’ve been informed of the identity of the actor, we have chosen not to reveal it until it becomes public knowledge, out of respect to the women involved.
The fallen star and his many trysts
Speculation has since reached fever pitch, with talks that the notorious bad boy may have infected some of his previous partners.
The man in question is described as a “celebrity with a chequered history’”, and it’s been reported his former flames, which include an award-winning actress, a stunning movie star, a glamour model, a media personality, a troubled star and a TV show regular, all share concerns about having been passed the virus.
Silencing his former flames?
Now fear is mounting, not just for the actor’s string of high-profile former partners, but also for the many supposed women the notorious Lothario has slept with in the Los Angeles area.
Insiders also believe the actor has paid off a former lover with a whopping $27,000 a month to remain tight-lipped over his illness.
“One girl had agreed to go on dates with the star and to sleep with him. She wasn’t a prostitute, just someone who was happy to meet him and be his girlfriend,” a woman, who is friendly with some of the actor’s ex-girlfriends, tells Radar Online.
“After a few dates and after sleeping together, she found the HIV medicine in a bathroom cabinet. Obviously she was shocked and angry. She had no idea he has HIV.”
Thankfully the insider believes the Hollywood A-Lister’s girlfriend tested negative for the infection, which can lead to AIDS if left untreated.
In a bid to “shut her up” the actor has reportedly been coughing up “lot of money” to buy her silence.
The fallout
Despite Hollywood’s state of shock, the star in question still “refuses to go public about his condition”.
Woman’s Day understands his lawyers are preparing for a string of legal ramifications from the women he may have put at risk.
“It has now become common knowledge that this star is HIV positive, something he has known for a number of years,” a source explained to The Sun.
“The reality is that if he’s knowingly put women at risk then that’s disgusting, and it’s only a matter of time before that becomes public.”
RadarOnline reports the star admitted to his friends in October 2013 that he was HIV positive.
The website goes on to claim they were made to keep his condition a secret, “Because he is terrified that his fans will turn against him, killing off his career”.
In Australia, more than 27,000 people are infected with HIV, and it’s estimated that 12% are unaware of their positive status.
HIV, which affects the immune system and can develop into AIDS if left untreated, is spread through the bodily fluid of infected people.
