One day after their ten year wedding anniversary, celebrity couple Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have called it quits.
In a joint statement to People Magazine, the actor couple revealed that although they are divorcing, their main focus was their children’s happiness and privacy.
“After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce,” their statement read, “We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time. This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding.”
Their split, however, is not totally unexpected.
The couple set rumour mills into overdrive when paparazzi spotted removal trucks outside their family home last week, and the couple today confirmed that they had been living apart for “several months”.
Ben and Jen, who were dubbed ‘Bennifer’, met on the set of 2003 movie, Daredevil, and have three children together, Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3.
But they’re not the only Hollywood couple whose romance hasn’t ended with a cliché Hollywood ending.
