Actress Tessa James marked her 24th birthday on Friday, and after completing a brutal five months of chemotherapy for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, the gorgeous former Home and Away star finally has something to smile about.
Her Rugby player husband Nate Myles, 29, shared an adorable couple snap of the pair of them on Friday.
Paying tribute to his partner for inspiring him, he wrote: “Happy Birthday to 1 amazing woman @tessacharis thank you for living life like Puff Daddy. #wontstop #cantstop eh ah eh ah Love you #dreamteam”
On Sunday then the duo were joined by a group of friends and family for a low key picnic at the beach to celebrate her birthday. Tessa looked content and happy as it appeared her hair had also begun to grow back in recent weeks, forming a cute pixie do – a sign of recovery from the gruelling chemo treatment.
Tessa announced in September last year that she had been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which is the same type of cancer that singer Delta Goodrem was diagnosed with in 2003.
Since then, the brave Aussie starlet has been keeping her chin up throughout her treatment, staying active and hitting the beach . Recently she shared snaps with fellow Aussie celeb and source of inspiration, cancer survivor Sally Obermeder.
Tessa’s family have also been a great source of support to her throughout the treatment, with her sister Candy also taking to social media on Friday to wish her inspiring sibling a happy birthday.
“Happy birthday to my favourite person in the world! You continue to amaze and inspire me every day. You deserve a very special day love you so much,” she wrote.
Happy birthday to the beautiful Tessa, we’re glad to see she’s doing well and wish her all the best for a speedy recovery!
