Tessa James’ friends have praised the young Home and Away starlet’s strength in the face of adversity as she undergoes cancer treatment.
Tessa was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in September at the young age of just 23 and has been staying strong with the support of her footballer husband Nate Myles, and her strong circle of friends.
Close friend and former Home and Away castmate Jodi Anasta, 29 has travelled to the Gold Coast twice with her NRL legend husband Braith Anasta, to visit Tessa as she undergoes treatment.
“She’s incredible,” says Jodi of her friend Tessa’s attitude and outlook.
She continued: “I didn’t know what to expect, but Tessa is amazing.”
“The way she is handling this shows a lot of character – she’s a strong, brave woman, who refuses to let this beat her.”
Jodi also told Woman’s Day of how Tessa is planning for the future, without ever letting cancer stand in her way.
“We’re already planning a trip to Paris for Fashion Week next year,” says Jodi. “This is just a little obstacle and Tess is planning for the future.”
Earlier this year, Tessa’s doting husband Nate, 29, took to social media to express his frustration at the unfairness of cancer, but Jodi and Braith agree that Tessa couldn’t have a better man by her side. The Anastas firmly believe the two are “a good team,” and the “perfect couple”.
Ever since Tessa’s diagnosis she has continued to inspire fans with her positive attitude, just last week sharing a smiling selfie with fans on Instagram.
She’s also continued to keep active, hitting the beach with friends and posting a video of herself paddle-boarding. Her friend’s all agree that her outlook is inspiring.
Jodi says: “Tess will inspire a lot of women with her positive attitude and her huge courage – she’s a true inspiration!”
