Andy is such a celebrated icon in his homeland that many dubbed it the “royal wedding” of Scotland, with hordes of photographers and spectators turning out to witness the lavish event.
The adorable couple, both 27, exchanged their vows at the 12th Century Dunblane Cathedral where they emerged grinning ear-to-ear amidst the crowds of well-wishers before heading off for a modest private reception with friends and family.
The Wimbledon and US Open-winner wore a traditional Scottish kilt in blue and green and was met with a huge cheer by the crowd as he arrived at the church.
Kim – who is a passionate artist specialising in pet portraits – wore a stunning white gown designed by Jenny Packham – a favourite of the Duchess Catherine, which featured a full skirt and stunning beaded detail at the sleeves and waist.
The tennis pro announced their engagement back in November and told BBC Sports at the time that he wasn’t nervous at all about taking the next step.
“We’ve been together like nine-and-a-half years and we’ve lived together for six or seven years as well, so I don’t think a whole lot’s going to change,” Andy gushed at the time.
“I kind of feel like we have been married already in terms of the way we spend our lives together and live together. I think I will be more nervous about starting a family because that would be more life-changing, in a good way.”
