There's nothing more fickle than a Hollywood relationship and while new power couples come and go quicker than Kim Kardashian's blink-and-you'll-miss-it marriage to Kris Humphries that doesn't mean we aren't allowed to wish some stars were still together.

And if Emma Stone’s recent comments to Interview Magazine about her ex Andrew Garfeild are anything to go by, maybe some of them do too.

“He is such a poet. But that’s the way he writes in general. So I hear it and of course my heart swells up. And I also know that he writes things like that on a daily basis,” she gushed to the publication of her former partner of three years.

These days they’re both happily married – Johnny to actress Amber Heard and Kate to rocker Jamie Hince – but during the Nineties this duo were the ultimate It Couple. After a turbulent two years together they finally parted ways in 1998 and the supermodel has since confessed it took “years and years of crying” to get over the actor. We don’t blame you, Mossie.

When life imitates art it’s pretty damn sweet and after Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield fell in love starring opposite each other in Spider-Man it seemed like the perfect happy ending. But in April our hearts were broken when it all came crashing down.

Their love didn’t go the distance but Elizabeth Hurley and Hugh Grant win the award for most civil exes. In a touching tribute to her former flame, Hugh is even the godfather to Liz’s son Damian. “I love him, but he’s very annoying,” Liz recently mused of her ex.

Some couples are just too cool to last – case in point Jennifer Lopez and P. Diddy/Sean Combs/Puff Daddy/whatever he likes to be called these days.

Reality heavyweights Khloe and Lamar won a legion of fans with their own spin off show but perhaps the kiss of death was their awkwardly-named fragrance – Unbreakable. RIP Khloe and Lam-Lam, you were great together.

Remember when the OC’s Seth and Summer, also known as Rachel Bilson and Adam Brody, were dating in real life? We do and we will #NeverForget.

They were the King and Queen of quirky for 13 years but last November our hearts were shattered when director Tim Burton and actress Helena Bonham Carter announced they had “split amicably.”

Brad Pitt is well-known to morph into his other halves so we wonder what his now-wife Angelina Jolie would think of his matching blond crop cut? Meanwhile in January, Brad’s one-time fiancee Gwyneth Paltrow reflected of their relationship: “I definitely fell in love with him. He was so gorgeous and sweet. I mean, he was Brad Pitt!”
