Aussie-based Swifties have a new reason to rejoice with the confirmation that Taylor Swift will be making her way Down Under sooner than expected.
The Lover songstress has been locked in to headline the Melbourne Cup, performing on Tuesday November 5.

It will be Taylor’s only public appearance in Australia, which means: sorry guys, no tour!
But on the plus side, she will be performing two songs in the Mounting Yard, which can be seen by anyone with a general admission ticket.
Victorian Racing Club CEO Neil Wilson said he was thrilled to welcome the Bad Blood hitmaker to the Race That Stops The Nation.
“Lexus Melbourne Cup Day is the most celebrated day on Australia’s major event calendar and with a reach of 1 billion people globally, it’s only fitting the VRC welcomes the world’s most celebrated star for the event,” he said.
“To think you can come to Flemington and watch not only the race that stops a nation but see one of the world’s biggest, if not the biggest, entertainer perform for the cost of a general admission ticket is phenomenal. We look forward to welcoming Taylor Swift to our wonderful event in just under 54 days.”

The Melbourne Cup has garnered quite a reputation for attracting high-profile overseas stars over the years.
In 1985, Princess Diana herself was the special guest stunning crowds with her classy black and white outfit. Dita Von Teese and was queen of the members area in 2013.
And back in 2017, Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris attended but received backlash for eschewing the strict dress code as well as being snapped sticking her tongue out while her nose and hands were pressed up against a window.
