Taylor Swift fires back at Kanye West for those lyrics in a fiery-worded Grammys acceptance speech.

Earlier this week, Kanye West debuted his new album The Life of Pablo during his Yeezy Season 3 fashion show at Madison Square Garden in New York.

For the most part, his latest offering received rave reviews but one particular song stood out for some very inappropriate lyrics.

The song entitled Famous contained a few questionable lyrics that were directly linked to the famed musician, Taylor Swift.

“I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that b**ch famous.” Kanye rapped in reference to the infamous “imma let you finish” moment at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

Immediately, Taylor’s friends and family banded together to stand up against the misogynistic comments, with Taylor’s bestie Selena commenting, “Everyone has their own opinion. At the end of the day you can just do what you do.”

“She’s killing it and she kind of always has been,” Selena said of her high achieving BFF.

Until now, Taylor herself had made no personal comment on the matter, but her acceptance speech at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards for Album of the Year seemed to contain a very clear message for controversial rapper Kanye.

“I want to thank the fans for the last 10 years and for the recording academy or giving us this honour,” she said as she held the gold statue for her hit album 1989.

“As the first woman to win album of the year at the Grammys twice, I want to say to all the young woman out there that there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame,” Taylor added in a not-so-subtle response to Yeezy.

“But if you just focus on the work and you don’t let those people side-track you, someday when you get where you’re going you’ll look around and you will know that it was you and the people who love you who put you there. And that will be the greatest feeling in the world.”

Indeed, Kanye and Taylor have a rich history since he hijacked Tay’s acceptance speech at the 2009 VMAs, claiming Beyonce was a more worthy winner for the Best Video award.

The rapper, who recently announced he wanted to run for the 2020 presidency, has gone on to confess he was in a dark place at the time and apologised.

Last year, he even sent her an enormous bunch of flowers for her birthday and all seemed to be water under the bridge. That was until Famous dropped.

Shaking it off! Taylor Swift wins Album of the Year at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards but not before she hits back at Kanye West.

Over the weekend Taylor’s rep released a statement labelling the track as misogynistic.

“Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account,” her rep said at the time.

“She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that b**ch famous.'”

But the father-of-two refutes those claims.

“I did not diss Taylor Swift and I’ve never dissed her… First thing is I’m an artist and as an artist I will express how I feel with no censorship,” he ranted on Twitter.

“I asked my wife for her blessings and she was cool with it. I called Taylor and had a hour long convo with her about the line and she thought it was funny and gave her blessings,” he fumed.

“I’m not even gone take credit for the idea… it’s actually something Taylor came up with. She was having dinner with one of our friends who’s name I will keep out of this and she told him. I can’t be mad at Kanye because he made me famous! #FACTS,” he finished.

While their series of events differ greatly, there’s no doubt Taylor is shaking it all off as she cradles her three new Grammys from tonight to add to her ever expanding collection.
