Taylor Swift and Kanye West have put the past behind them, surprising everyone by and stepping out on a friendly dinner date together.
After Kanye’s infamous interruption of Taylor Swift accepting the Best Female Video award at the 2009 MTV VMAs, the last thing anyone would expect is for the two of them to become friends.
Nonetheless, the pair were spotted out to dinner at New York’s trendy Spotted Pig restaurant in the hip West Village on Tuesday night.
The dinner date comes after they were recently photographed hugging and smiling as they posed side by side at the Grammy Awards earlier this month.
In Kanye’s infamous interruption speech of 2009, he suggested that Beyonce should have won the top prize instead.
Kanye declared: “Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you, and Immo let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the one of the best videos of all time!”

Six years later, that’s clearly water under the bridge. Now that Taylor’s star has ascended, making her one of the top-selling artists of all time – clearly Kanye wants to get a piece of the action as he claims the pair are surprisingly collaborating on a new song together!
“Yeah, she wants to get in the studio and we’re definitely going to go in,” Kanye said of Taylor in an interview on Ryan Seacrest’s US radio show.
“Any artist with an amazing point of view, perspective, fan base, I’m down to get in the studio and work. I don’t discriminate, I don’t have an elitism of music because of like how many Grammys or you know, the amount of ratings you get on an album.”
If the recording goes ahead, this would certainly make for one of the most interesting collaborations in recent pop history!
