Indigenous supermodel Samantha Harris travelled to the picturesque Cook Islands with The Weekly recently and when she got home the stunning 24-year-old kindly took five with us.
1. What do you do to get summer ready? Do you have a workout schedule?
I exercise six days a week normally but when I have a big shoot coming up I step up my workout routine and do a mix of cardio and weight training in my own time.
I also train with Jordan Ponder from Transform Health – we do a lot of interval and circuit training to keep the heart rate up and the body guessing.
2. Bikini or full-piece?
That’s an easy one – bikini, definitely!
3. You recently took a trip to the Cook Islands with The Weekly, can you tell us some of the highlights?
The Cook Islands were really fun! We stayed at the Tamanu Beach Resort in Aitutaki, my room was amazing and overlooked the water.
We spent one of the days shooting on Honeymoon Island, and that was a breathtaking location. The water was so crystal clear!
The whole team on the trip were great, we all got along really well, had lots of laughs and managed to try some yummy local restaurants on our time off.
On the way back Air NZ flight upgraded my seat to Business Class – which was a nice surprise at the end of a busy week.
4. Are there any pieces you saw on the shoot that are now in your wardrobe hit list?
I loved the neoprene bags the style director Mattie had on the shoot. They are the perfect summer tote and the fluro red in on my wish list for sure!
5. What are your beauty travel essentials?
A good hydrating moisturiser with SPF in it lip balm is a must, especially when you are in tropical locations.
