Katie Holmes fears her daughter Suri is being raised as a “Scientology Princess”. The young mum is increasingly uncomfortable about the controversial church grooming her 18-month-old to be its ultimate ambassador.
“Katie knows her marriage and her child are being held up as examples by some members of the church,” says an insider. “When she thinks about Suri being seen as some kind of ‘Scientology Princess’ she feels uneasy and breaks down in tears. She looks at the way Tom’s ex-wife Nicole Kidman has had less contact with her kids Isabella and Connor of late, and wonders what would happen if she ever tried to leave Tom and the church with Suri.”
Most of the couple’s staff are reported to be Scientologists, leaving Katie little margin to escape the organisation’s scrutiny. Two church-approved nannies help ensure that Suri is raised in accordance with strict Scientology parenting guidelines, which the church says will give the child the best possible chance at being free of emotional problems in later life.
The church even has views on appropriate playmates, as it reportedly fears contact with non-believers could taint the toddler’s purity.
“They won’t want her playing with kids who would expose her to entheta [bad influences],” a former church member says…
