Where does the time go?
Proud mama Sonia Kruger has celebrated her daughter Maggie’s second birthday with a delicious cake adorned in confetti.
Taking to Instagram, the Today Extra host posted a sweet snap of her daughter blowing out the two candles.
“I wish mummy could tell you this gets easier! Happy 2nd birthday my sweet baby girl,” a sentimental Sonia mused next to the pic.
Earlier in the day, the 51-year-old also posted a throwback snap of her only child when she was just a few months old (see second photo, below).
After years of heartache and struggle to conceive, Maggie was welcomed by the proud couple back in 2015.
Sonia has tragically miscarried several times before and also tried to use IVF. “At my first round of IVF at 45, my doctor said my chances of success using my own eggs were virtually zero,” she once explained to The Australian Women’s Weekly.
But her dreams of starting a family were finally granted after she received a donor egg from an female friend to help her conceive.
“I wanted to be really clear on the show with our viewers and let everyone know that I did go through IVF and I did have an egg donor. I have a very good friend who basically gave me an egg and that’s how this pregnancy came about,” Sonia explained on The Today Show shortly after announcing her pregnancy.
Meanwhile, the Strictly Ballroom star recently sparked speculation she may have tied the knot after she stepped out with an impressive sparkler on her wedding finger.
Although her rep has since down the wedding whispers, it certainly would make the ultimate birthday present to Maggie!
