Beyonce’s sister Solange Knowles finally breaks her silence about the infamous incident in the elevator with Queen Bey’s hubby Jay Z
It must be frustrating when the whole world decides to weigh in on your family argument, but that’s exactly what happened to Solange Knowles last month after a video of her attacking her brother-in-law Jay Z in an elevator while her famous sister Beyoncé stood by, went instantly viral.
Since then, none of the three very-famous-family-members have publicly discussed what went down on that night of Monday the 5th May, but now Solange has broken her silence for the first time in an interview with Lucky magazine.
She doesn’t give away much though! Simply referring to the incident as “that thing”, Solange seems to acknowledge it’s a subject that everyone is going to discuss. As the interview took place two weeks after the video was first published on the TMZ website, Lucky Mag writes: “It’s a subject she expects in conversation but one she doesn’t want to focus on.”
“What’s important is that my family and I are all good,”Solange said. “What we had to say collectively was in the statement that we put out, and we all feel at peace with that.”

Although the family have generally remained tight-lipped about what exactly went down that night, they did release a joint-statement a few days after the video went viral.
“Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred,” the statement read. “They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family.”
“The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false. At the end of the day families have problems and we’re no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same.”
The Knowles-Carters can continue to hope that everyone else will move on, but we doubt the world is going to stop pondering what exactly caused that fight in the elevator anytime soon.
